LONG time user of Tripp UPS data center products. The only thing that
seems to stop them is spraying water in the front of the UPS. You'd
think they would have thought of that but hey, live and learn.
Their support is also excellent. Even the water spray incident and
follow on support getting back on line was excellent.

I'm getting a few quotes on UPS replacement. Since our IBM i is in thetime

Quotes from least to most expensive. All plug into standard 110v outlet.
- Tripplite SU1500RTXL2UA with an extended battery pack.
- Liebert GXT5-2000LVRT2UXLN with a MicroPOD MP2-120C Power Output
Distribution Box.
- Eaton 9PX3000RT.
The first 2 have network cards and bypass. The Eaton does not. So the
Eaton is out.
Deciding between the first 2. Obviously I have experience with Liebert.
Tripplite experience is with underdesk battery backups for desktops and
power strips with dozens of plugs. No trouble with either brand

The Liebert guy says his is better quality. Also says that the MicroPOD
the key to continued operation in the case of total UPS failure. (Whatif
the MicroPOD fails?)--
Any experience here with Tripplite UPS? I have some questions off to him
regarding bypass if UPS failure.
Thanks.
