Right, Rob ... there are reasons ICMP may be blocked, but if it's not,
that's the easiest way to answer Jay's Question # 1:
*Are we getting out of the building?*
There is no evidence yet presented on this interesting subject! A
traceroute, if it even gets a hop or two off your LAN, will answer that one.
If you're lucky, the traceroute may go right up to AWS gateway and there
die horribly, in which the discussion is over, and it's all on your
business partner.
