When I mentioned FTP I was thinking of creating an FTP resource via
CRTFPRICC pointing to a local FTP server. We don't have enough free disk
space on any of our guest LPARs for a full backup to virtual tape, so I was
thinking a local FTP server resource would allow us to offload virtual tape
images as the backups were running at local LAN speed.
With disk space limitations, etc., it still sounds like a VTL would be a
better option. I already have a quote from Cybernetics and will probably
have a quote from LaserVault in the near future.
