Each VTL is connected to it's local Power system with fiber channel. The two VTL's are connected by TCP/IP. They are in different cities. How big of a pipe is needed depends on your bandwidth needs. For example, how much H/A replication is going on between the two sites, along with VTL replication, along with any VM server replication. Along with whether or not you're talking between co-lo facilities or whether or not there are employees there pounding out other Internet use.
