The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Then I suspect that your only solution is to follow Brigitta's
suggestion and add to a temporary file, then when the user is happy,
move the records to the final file.
The records you add as you are currently doing are going to be visible,
but I believe they will be locked (un-updateable) until you commit. You
might want to try updating one with SQL. What your existing programs do
with locked records is something to consider.

This can't be the answer because most of the other programs using the files
will not have any form of commitment control. I am only adding it to this
program so the users can cancel their changes and rollback.
