Yes I am really interested about why you are opposed.

It has been a lot of years since I wrote my last 5250 program, I found
the web much easier to write and users like it better.

My main objective is to serve better to my users, IBM i has a better
cost of ownership, but 5250 gives a sense of antic, and sometimes people
go to other platforms that looks more "modern".
I do not get more money for doing web, but if I keep in 5250 it is very
likely I will be discarded.
Local PC cpu cost the same rendering a nice web page or using a 5250
emulator.  Web is available in every device, emulator you need to
install. It is hard in telephones.

We can make our living producing the same results in web pages.
The same up to a point, because in web we can deliver much more than in
5250, and also prettier and more "like people is used to" in modern systems.
So, it's just about stuff being more pretty, using more resources (local PC CPU for rendering HTML into pixels)? Or just to make money? :-)

Personally, I'm opposed to modernize = webify for many reasons. Feel free to ask if you're truly interested.
