Hi everyone
Before I forget, we are on V7r3

We have a file that contains some notes for each of our customers
These notes are displayed to users - however, the text field sometimes contains non-displayable characters that ends up with the program erroring out

This is due to the users cutting and pasting data from other mediums (word documents, e-mails, I.M.'s etc.)
My google search led me to this SQL query using TRANSLATE

SELECT rrn(a), a.CHNUM,
TRANSLATE(UPPER(a.CHTXT), ' ',
'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890!@#$%^&*()-=+/\{}[];:.,<>? "|')
, CHTXT
FROM nbjdta.csthistp a
WHERE
(TRANSLATE(UPPER(a.CHTXT), ' ',
'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890!@#$%^&*()-=+/\{}[];:.,<>? "|')
<> ' ')
order by rrn(a)

The example that I found did NOT include the characters " and |
I included them in the above SQL query
What is being displayed shows that the single quote is also included in the text field - but these are valid

Here is my question
How do I incorporate the single quote, to be used in STRSQL so that it becomes part of what to translate?

As always - all responses gratefully accepted
