All spool files are already being managed. Nothing special about job logs and no extra code. Just aren't being added to the dataq automatically. Job logs are a very tiny portion of the spool files created.
All spool files are purged on whatever timeframe I want.
I understand your point but then there is extra special code just for them.

Why create spool files of your joblogs? Wouldn't it be much easier if you stopped spooling them by changing the system value QLOGOUTPUT to *PND? Then you could easily use SQL to copy them to a DB file and purge those a lot easier than managing spool files.

Hi All,
I created a spool file management system that manages all spool files created on the system.
It archives to the IFS, Emails and prints when wanted.
Works great.
I added the environment variable that adds to my DtaQ when a spool file is created.
However, when a job log is created in QEZJOBLOG or QEZDEBUG, it does not add it to my DtaQ.
I would like to eliminate the process where I interrogate the QEZJOBLOG outq and add entries to my DtaQ every few minutes.
What am I missing?
