This seems to work fine:
sbmjob cmd(qsh cmd('ssh -T -v -v -v -i .ssh/id_rsa_user ADOPT@as2edi01 "dir >/users/ADOPT/testdirout1421.txt"')) jobq(qbatch)

Bypasses creating a .sh script, which the programmer prefers also.
Submitting it to batch solves the 'press enter' issue we were having.
