Not to be to harsh but how is a setting that is clearly documented and well known by users, a vendor a problem the vendor needs to deal with? It sounds like the software runs without problem once you point it to the correct Java, so they where ready, you just missed the update that you needed to do.

Same issue for any software that uses Java, they have to point to the correct one.
