Try opening the PC based version on any of the free AFP viewers. You might
have to open a prior one to check functionality. Some may want file
extension of .OVL or .AFP. But if both the new and an old one view, you
can look at the i series object.

You can also dump the object and see if it starts with,

LINES 000060
000100 5A0010D3 A8DF

The hex 10 is a length . It might vary. And it could start with a NoOp
which would replace the D3A8DF with D3EEEE.

You can also do a hex dump on the PC object. It should have the same
5AxxyyD3A8DF start. If you are missing the 5A or the D3, I doubt you are
looking at an AFP overlay.

I?ve seen this. Usually changing the print text as graphics has helped.

I also have never used 600x600 that might be a problem .

I'm trying to create an overlay, but I'm getting odd results.

I've done quite a few of these, but haven't done one in about 3 years.
In
such time, I am now on a windows 10 machine and have had to recreate my
AFP
printers.
I downloaded from ricoh

Image resolution is 600x600
Paper size is 11x17
Output type is overlay
Clip limits is top 0, left 0, width 17, height 11 offset plus size
and
units in inches
Image options is default dither, graphic options none, color-black and
white
Print text as graphics = on

I have tried various combitions of paper size and orientation
But when I print the overlay the text is unreadable. The numbers print
ok, but characters are not.

Also, using TRNTBL(*NONE) and TRNFMT(*NOTEXT) on the CPYFRMPCD command.

Any ideas what may be causing this.
