I think what you are trying to say is that you plan on saving the same number of directories. Some during the restricted save. Some others after you bring the system out of restricted state.
You could write your own program or you could still follow my previous email and do the OMITS(*IGNORE) after system comes up.

I've found that since moving to BRMS and a VTL I couldn't give a rat's posterior about which tape(s) the save is on. BRMS tracks the tapes used. The VTL doesn't waste tape like unused mylar in a cartridge.

I found the commands for GO SAVE 21 (https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_73/rzarm/rzaiurzaiu267.htm). I'm planning on making my own CL and have the IFS save omit the particular directories. After the STRSBS, I'll save those directories to the same tape. That should work, right?
