In preparation for moving to our new power 9 box this coming weekend (new HMC interface can bite my shiney *#@$), I just deleted all the OPS stuff and dealt with the fallout. For me python was the only thing really being used. I had to fix up the default path and install a couple of packages that I had in the OPS versions. At the very least a list of differences or potential gotchas would be nice.

Interesting. I thought the standard advice was to scrap everything in 5733-OPS, unless specifically needed for finicky software (with hard-coded paths or extremely version-dependent code).
And I'm *positive* the advice for folks who have never installed 5733-OPS is not to bother installing it now.
