The only thing I'd worry about using Google is they drop services and
change terms very often which may leave your application dead in the water,
unless it's a private app used in your own Company's Google App Suite
environment.

Case in point, if you were previously using the Gmail scope for an
application they now require a very rigorous (and actually, from their
side, quite ignorant of anything "non-device") proof that you're not using
scopes for malicious reasons. If they don't understand your app, how it
works, or the platform it runs on they will just say "no, we're not giving
you access to that scope". (Ask me how I know.. go ahead... lol)

Other than hand, their services really are second to none and the price, if
any, is well worth it.

distance api for driving distance.

I think this is an outstanding idea. However if you are into alternatives
which may not rely upon external services check out http://worksright.com/
They have some stuff which can tell you distance between two locations.
I'm not sure if that is "as the crow flies".
Not getting any sweetener from this. Just someone who has used their
products in the past.

Subject: Using Google maps to get the distance between two addresses

I am just starting to investigate how to do this and wondered if anyone in
the group had already done this using Google Maps or some other site.

The requirement is to process a list of from and to street addresses and
calculate the distance by road between the two addresses.

If anyone has already done this and would like to point me in nthe right
direction it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Don Brown
