Re: new Power9, going from 1G to 10G Enet...

Diego, that might be a reason to open a PMR. I remember when I installed my
first P8 it was an AIX machine, latest TL, latest fixes, latest everything.
Yet, when using dedicated 10G adapters it randomly restarted the entire
LPAR under heavy throughput. One PMR after and a temp fix was issued and
the system ran a lot better.
Back to IBM i, How did you isolate the culprit for your CPU usage?
I ask because I have a P9 just migrated to 7.3 and P9 using SR-IOV and LACP
(1x10G port from each card) , I see 2~3.5 core usage (of 4 total in the
pool) during the day and it seems to me to be a bit excessive since the p7
had 3 IBM i cores and they had a lot less CPW. Granted, that LPAR was
running close to 100% some times during the day...

No, only theoretical calculation (moving x GB over z minutes).
We've
gotten rid of most of those requirements. Now our only pipe issue
is
offsite HA replication.
