Joe,

The HMC Enhanced + interface is at best annoying at worst completely unusable. That said what you need to do is what the YouTube videos Nigel Griffith created on the new interface.

That will enlighten you about the changes in philosophy that the GUI designers (however deranged they were) had in how to manage a system. In short they never talked to an IBM i shop that uses dynamic partitioning at all, (AIX rarely uses it since AIX reacts badly to things being removed and added to it dynamically, and by extension VIOS) or IBM i hosting anything, etc.etc.

See: https://www.youtube.com/user/nigelargriffiths/videos?reload=9

If I repeat to myself "I love the new HMC interface" enough times, I might get there before I'm moldering in the ground, but I doubt it.

I think we usually roll through hardware quickly enough that SSD maintenance won't be an issue. But for now I'm becoming acquainted with the joys of web-based HMC version 8.7.0. I am not amused...

IDK how hold your 8286 is. The one we still have has no SSD's. The

the maintenance on SSD's is cost prohibitive.
