Windows has a speed control in the "mouse" control panel. I'd expect *nix to have something similar...

I really don't mind the button. It's always 'right there.'

Yea, and the new ones are set up to move way too fast making it really
difficult to control.

Found something else interesting.
The new keyboard for the HMC 7063-CR1 has no mouse pad, only a button.
Yuk.

EXP24 rails are some of my favorite! Insert and snap on the clip! Unless
they are none IBM racks which introduces the changing of the screws and
potential lenght issues. Still though easy.

The HMC also simple IF you're familiar with Supermicro 1U servers. If not
they they still aren't bad but different.

The flat panels, yeah don't make me tell you about 'Exhibit A' and 'Exhibit
B' screws.....

Thanks everyone, we're good.
P9 all racked and cabled.
Rails were a night mare, all different, the documentation was not totally
accurate.
9009-42A and 7316 Flat panel console rails weren't bad.
Improper screws, (wrong thread size) for attaching Flat Panel to the flat
panel rails.
EXP24SX storage enclosure and 7063-CR1 rails, that's another story.

On to HMC configuration.
Except for the HMC ip, would be acceptable to mirror the settings from my
P7 HMC, 7042-CR6?
Let the fun begin.

The P9 is 3/4 inch beyond a P8 or P7 server? If so, then look to see
if you put a screw in the front of the rail BEFORE you pushed in the
server. I'll
bet it's hitting a screw. If it's the same as the P8/P7, that's where
its
supposed to be.

The HMC does not have rails that allow it to be pulled out like the
earlier
HMCs did. There is no provision for that in the rail. Both Steve and
I
alluded to that earlier when we told you there was no cable management
arm for the HMC.

1)The front of the 9009-42A server extends 1/2 to 3/4 inches past any
other device in the rack.
It appears to be mounted correctly and is pushed all the way in.
Is this normal for P9 servers, or do I have a rail/rack issue?

2) When pulling out the HMC, it only extends 1/2 way, not fully like
the 9009-42A.
Is this normal for the 7063-CR1, or do I have a rail/rack issue?
If engaging the release buttons, the HMC then extends further, but
becomes released from the rails.

Thank You
