× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I think (memory bad) that hot spare came in with V5R4, and the higher end
(at the time) RAID cards. I don't remember the 5709 (?) well enough to
remember if hot spare was available. I don't think any of the systems I
managed (including my own) had hot spare running.
