The integrated application server version 8.5 that comes with IBM i is NOT
deprecated. It is based on the IBM liberty server, which currently is at
version 18.0.03.

What is deprecated, is the old versions (7.1, 8.1) of the integrated
application server, and has been for a few years.

Of course it is. Since OS/400 hasn't been sold in years it only makes
sense.
