I'm not sure what you mean by web nav. If you go to Navigator for I using
http://yoursystemname:2001 then file systems then file shares you can see all the shares defined for that system. You can select a share and look at the properties to see connected users.

iNav allows you to view the shares and all the connected sessions. I don't see a corresponding option in web nav.

Just to follow up on my own post.
The easiest syntax on the Mac is apparently:
open 'smb://username:password@server/share'
Which automatically creates a load point etc.
Sadly all I get is an error saying the share does not exist ... but at least it connects so that part is working. Now I just have to find out how to establish the /share part on the iBM i - thought I'd done that but ...
Is there a command to show what shares are active on the system?
