We have an IBM i service to help you with this (2, actually).

This first one will examine ALL output queues on your system. It can take
a while to run.

select * from qsys2.output_queue_entries
where expiration_date < current date + 10 days;

The second option is to invoke the underlying table function directly,
passing the outq name. Since the expiration date is part of the detailed
information, you must pass YES for that input parameter.

select * from table (qsys2.output_queue_entries(outq_lib => 'MYOUTQLIB',
outq_name => 'MYOUTQ', detailed_info =>'YES')) x
where expiration_date < current date + 10 days;

Is there a way to get a list of the spool files that are currently
expired? Or the ones that will expire shortly?

We are on 7.2 and will soon implement some form of old SPLF removal.

Thanks.
