That was a great explanation as to why bother with the UDTF versus just
querying the view. Thank you.
My original test was on our production lpar, and, yes, that was a dog. And
we delete all spool files over 90 days old (we care not a whit about
expiration date).
Our sandbox lpar was much faster. On the sandbox lpar I used CHGSPLF to
assign an expiration date to a spool file just for testing.
Works great.
