Stuff we have found connected to UPS:

Floor heaters.
Copy Machines.
Laser Printers.
Personal fans. (Crap style shaded pole motors)
Christmas lights (about 100 of the old 7W style bulbs)
Coffee cup heater.
Another, much bigger, UPS. (This one discovered when the red trucks and guys with the backwards hats showed up)
Air Conditioners.
Telco rack with its own battery bank (4x monster 12V deep cycle)
Bunn coffee maker, three pot unit, constant hot water.

That last one killed me to unplug but ya gotta do it. UPSs are NOT designed and rarely sized for those loads.

Funny stuff that.
Like the former employee who complained that the UPS for his PC didn't
last very long when the power failed. I went over there and unplugged the
electric heater from the UPS and said let's see if this helps (dead
silence from him).

Laptops, with their built in batteries, really do make it nice. Of
course, everything else on the docking station tends to go casters up.
