I wonder if using

instead of
https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/wikis/home?lang=en#!/wiki/IBM%20i%20Technology%20Updates/page/QSYS2.ACTIVE_JOB_INFO%28%29%20-%20UDTF
would make a difference? One issue you are having is that it gets a list
of jobs, then passes it to JOBLOG_INFO and by that time the job in
question has ended.
