Jim,
Part of the problem with using IP addresses is that sometimes there are
devices in the network that "hide" the true IP address from the system.
Quite some time ago our company made the decision to install an Alteon
traffic consolidation device (before I was here). It maps the system's IP
address to a different IP address. Then if we have an outage they just
change the system IP address the Alteon is pointing to and no clients need
to be changed. That's what comes from having someone setup a network when
they don't understand DNS. What it also does is make it look like every
connection to my system looks like it is coming from a single IP address,
that of the Alteon device.
I've been looking at setting up secure ODBC traffic also and can't because
of this.
Respectfully,

As Dawn pointed out, there is not a way to separate that traffic
currently. You could use routing or exit programs If you have an idea
what IP addresses might be used, I've done that, but you also indicate the
inability or desire to use much in the way of work management
Your best bet is that RFE.

Hello Rich,
You could also use the SQL CLI APIs to retrieve the system reply list
product. I've written an RPG/IV wrapper that does just that an then return
the system reply list information as a simple data structure array. If you
want a copy, please let me know.
