Jim,

Part of the problem with using IP addresses is that sometimes there are devices in the network that "hide" the true IP address from the system. Quite some time ago our company made the decision to install an Alteon traffic consolidation device (before I was here). It maps the system's IP address to a different IP address. Then if we have an outage they just change the system IP address the Alteon is pointing to and no clients need to be changed. That's what comes from having someone setup a network when they don't understand DNS. What it also does is make it look like every connection to my system looks like it is coming from a single IP address, that of the Alteon device.

I've been looking at setting up secure ODBC traffic also and can't because of this.

As Dawn pointed out, there is not a way to separate that traffic currently. You could use routing or exit programs If you have an idea what IP addresses might be used, I've done that, but you also indicate the inability or desire to use much in the way of work management

Your best bet is that RFE.

Russel:

You'll have to create your subsystem, and include in it all the prestart jobs you need in the new subsystem. You'll have to remove the prestart jobs from the old subsystem. (presumably QUSRWRK and QSYSWRK.

Make sure to assign new memory (don't use *BASE) to them and on the class entry specify that new memory pool.

In the archives somewhere I have listed all the steps needed to do
this, (perhaps I should put them in the Wiki too)

I'm working today so I should see email to the list .

Does anyone know how to programmatically retrieve the current contents of

Hello Rich,

You could also use the SQL CLI APIs to retrieve the system reply list info - the CLI APIs do not require the SQL Development Kit licensed product. I've written an RPG/IV wrapper that does just that an then return the system reply list information as a simple data structure array. If you want a copy, please let me know.

Cheers,
Carsten

Rob,

That is the thinking although there is a text field in the file that is
coded in UCS2 or Unicode that could end up presenting a complication to my

IBM does not support the ability to route work by user profile for secure connections.

Subject: SBS/CMN routing

I need to route my incoming ODBC/JDBC traffic to a specific subsystem and that subsystems QRWTSRVR jobs. I tried QSYS2.SET_SERVER_SBS_ROUTING but that only works on non-secure traffic and I need a solution that works for secure traffic (SSL/TLS) can anyone help me?

Regards,
