To your question, I'd say yes (but it might depend on exactly what you changed). Whenever I make a big change, I consider it safer just to end all the unused QZDASOINIT jobs.

Subject: database connection errors

We are still having problems with our WebSphere application connecting to our iSeries at V7R1. We have all the latest groups installed.

This is what I received from our programming department manager:

Same error messages from last week from Java applications: "The application requester cannot establish the connection. (Socket operation on nonsocket: connect)".

PHP applications are throwing the same errors, just with different messaging.

These applications open multiple connections, why well I do not know. We get all sorts of application failures as it sends new request to our iSeries for data. Each step displays a different error to the user but the underlying error is always a connection issue.

QUESTION:
After changing a pre-start job entry for qrwtsrvr and qdazsoinit jobs, do you have to restart the PJ for it to take affect?
