RE: CCSID 1208 single quote

That prevents the conversion error, but I'm still not getting my single quote. I'm now getting this ' aE ' (each of the letters has a tick over it), meaning blank space, letter a, letter E, blank space.

If the file is stored on the IFS first.maybe CHGATR *CCSID 1200/1252 may work.

We encounter it on our site as well that many characters valid in CCSID
1252 are not in CCSID 1208. In EDTF it shows up as blank and an error message at the bottom on the screen (some charaters considered incvalis:
ä, ö)

I have an XML file that was uploaded thru Apache. It has a CCSID of 1208. I'm getting a conversion error during a lengthen import process.

I've looked at the XML via 5250, RDi and IE. In RDi and IE, it looks fine at first glance, but there's a single quote that looks different from the rest. The other single quotes are all vertical, but this one has a backwards slant. In 5250, that single quote is a blank space. I looked at the hex, and it has a value of E2. Assuming that's 00E2, the Unicode chart shows that as a letter "a" with a ^ over it. In context, I'm sure it's supposed to be a regular single quote.

I've seen these conversion errors before, but this is the first time I've been able to really dig into one. Is this something I can fix on my end? Do I need to change the upload in some manner?
