Don,

To ensure the files get over properly use Fillzilla or WinSCP (my choice) to do a binary FTP transfer after you unzip the files on your PC. I've found that the shared folder regardless of the SMB version can appear to work fine, but winds up corrupting parts of the file during transfer leaving the upgrade in a world of hurt.

Manual FTP works to, but the Fillzilla or WinSCP will multithread the transfer.
