My WRKDSKSTS shows 32 drives active in the system ASP. They are each
showing a size of 727418MB.
(32drives * 727418MB/drive) * 1GB/1000MB = 23, 277GB which seems
reasonably close to
System ASP . . . . . . : 23277 G

None of my hot spares are showing in WRKDSKSTS. If yours are you might
want to get the failed drives replaced.

Keep in mind that I have two ASPs. The system ASP and one basic user ASP.
I only showed you the system asp above. My hot spares in the user asp
aren't being used either.

DSPSYSSTS
Auxiliary storage:
System ASP . . . . . . : 23277 G
% system ASP used . . : 82.5171
Total . . . . . . . . : 45001 G
Based on this how could you even know whether or not the % was off? It
doesn't show you amount of system ASP used.

Not really using the user ASP on this system yet.

Our only lpars with "real disk" are hosting lpars. Almost all space on
our hosting lpars is in the QFPNWSSTG directory.

<snip>
Lastly, does the system incorrectly calculate total used disk space
because of the recursive sym link in QOpenSYs that links back upon itself
up to a depth of 10 times (therefore inflating QOpenSys consumed space by
10x)?
</snip>
No. And it's really bizarre to even think that WRKDSKSYS and/or DSPSYSSTS
would bother with that. As long as RTVDIRINF takes I could not possibly
fathom how one would even think that this recursivness of QOpenSys would
come into play for DSPSYSSTS or WRKDSKSTS.
