I teach this at Baker College. I would start by showing them qshell and bash on the i. Get the book Mastering the IBM i. Great resource for new people. Talk in tables, columns, rows. Breaks barriers.

And I agree fully, learning over time the quality of something is
significantly outweighs someone telling you.
I also have a high regard for persons with skills on other platforms - I
don't burn bridges, I like to be able to go back and ask questions they
