The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Hawkeye looks old but is up to date and has made a lot of stride into **FREE and SQL cross reference. We can have some dynamic statements cross referenced with Hawkeye. They have a RDI plug in which is good but needs more features. If you are good with most of your analysis being a bit old school, reports and out-files then I think Hawkeye is a good fit. Sorry I don't have a cost for you as that part is not in my area.
I am very surprising that Abstract dose not cross reference **FREE. I guess your only choice it pull a Rob B. on them an switch without them getting to have a say.
Note, we use ROBOT scheduler and we can also cross reference those.
We also cross reference additional data from our 5250 menu system and GoAnywhere projects with source statements.
It's good to hear about Abstract's lack of feature in this area as we had briefly discussed looking into it recently.

Subject: IBM i source code analysis
All,
User of Abstract for documentation for many, many years. I have requested for support for free form RPG for as long as I can remember.
Once again, just today, I was informed by HelpSystems that "... there is an enhancement request to support free format RPG, but unfortunately, it appears that there are no plans to add this functionality to Abstract at this time as the request does not appear on any roadmaps for development efforts."
So I've just about had it. Someday I'd like to retire and whoever takes my position will need some help here without a doubt.
Last October there was a discussion on this list about other documentation software available. Both Hawkeye Pathfinder and Databorough (now owned by Fresche Solutions) X-Analysis were mentioned.
Anyone familiar with both? How complete they are? Kept up to date?
Others?
Thanks for any insight.
