It sounds like you did Step 2 - APYPTF 5770999 *ALL *PERM

All the PTFs and the state the system was in at that time should be what's on the A side.

Yes, the system can run in production on the A side.

The only restriction IIRC is that more PTF work may require an IPL back to the B side.

Luckily, before I started this exercise, I permanently applied PTFs and did
a type 21 save.

I don't want to figure out how to restore from tape using the LAN console,
however. I have no idea how to set an alternate IPL with that thing.
