WOW I'm glad it finished. That saved days of frustration and fist pounding
the desk when the support guy askes you to send the exact same file for the
fourth time.

Attempt to rerun
updateios -accept -install -dev /home/padmin/viosupgrade results in:
(...some file...) (... some ?version number? ...) Already installed
(...some file...) (... some ?version number? ...) Already installed
(...some file...) (... some ?version number? ...) Already installed
(...some file...) (... some ?version number? ...) Already installed

ioslevel
returns new level of 2.2.6.10
Will try
shutdown -restart

I'm hoping this method at least keeps the console session during the
reboot...
Cool, it did. All the way through.

So far I've completed both VIOS upgrades and reboots. One at a time. With
no disruption to the redundant vios served ethernet. I love having a
sandbox Power system!

Now to check out why the operator says the backup didn't work on one lpar of
IBM i last night which has a vios served Fiber Channel connection. I don't
think that one is redundant...

... and the first thing I see when I log back in is:
The most recent software update has modified the current system rules.
These modifications have not been deployed on the system. To view the
modifications and deploy, run the 'rulescfgset' command.
