Hi Mary, Correct...you can't encrypt the system ASP.
QTEMP seems low risk because objects created only exist while the job is active, however since the storage is permanent, technically those objects are not really gone until they're overwritten. If you're doing disk encryption I'd suggest creating a library in your encrypted ASP to do the same function as QTEMP. That's great for custom stuff.
Not sure how to get around your vendor software issue. I'll think about that.

I have a question about encryption. I hope it is okay to discuss this here.
We have an encrypted drive on the iSeries, but QTEMP is on the system part of the drive and is not encrypted. What do you do about using QTEMP? Is there a way to encrypt that library? Can we make a symbolic link and use that instead? Or, do you simply not use QTEMP anymore?
We are considering buying a software package that uses QTEMP and are now considering not using it because it uses QTEMP and QTEMP is not encrypted. Has anyone run across this?
