Rob, not everyone can kill spool that fast. Most of my customers have about 6 months on line. One customer has over 450,000 spool files, and yes they know what it costs to store them and manage them. That does not include the over 4 million PDFs that were created from spool. ( on the IFS)

from being spool files anymore and they can continue to retain spool files

Why not just let the system clean them up after 7 days? Why bother
copying them to a file and all that?

Unfortunately they want to retain spool files for 120 days -

After discussion we were able to get some job retentions down to 90 days
but that was the limit.
