+1 with a proviso - I'm not sure that the presentation mode has much, if 
anything, to do with being a "modern" programmer - web development can 
be just as clunky.

I think it's more to do with the tools and your methodology, not the UI.

So there is room for 2 discussions here - modern interface, modern 
developer - maybe related, not necessarily so.
