Interesting post and likely to start religious wars!!

I thought I'd go outside the IBM i world and Google for "what is a 
modern programmer" - first hit that interested me has this statement, 
which I think is pretty worth looking at:

I'm not sure I think that modern programming is about sending stuff to 
Twitter or to the web - that's maybe one aspect, the output side, but 
that isn't about my approach - I can do all that with bad technique, 
with the best or worst of us.
