Gotcha. That makes sense.

I got around it for the moment with this switch:

//Turn off SSL verification (Got this from Jack Woehr)
git config --global http.sslVerify false

I'm also playing with SSH access to bitbucket, but currently getting this error:

--
logged in as richardschoen.
You can use git or hg to connect to Bitbucket. Shell access is disabled.
--

Can't seem to find the switch to run on shell access in Bitbucket.

Thoughts appreciated.....

I'll share my docs once I have this worked out.

Thanks

It can't verify the upstream repo because OpenSSL doesn't ship with any
certificate authorities. If you download the CA for GitHub or BitBucket or
whatever site you're connecting to, you can stick them in
/QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/SC1/OpenSSL/certs and run c_rehash. Then it should
work fine. Another option is to just copy the certs from a Linux box
(assuming they're in /etc/ssl/certs on the Linux system):

# Copy pem/crt files/links as files (-L)
$ rsync -rLptv --include={'*.pem','*.crt'} --exclude='*'
linux:/etc/ssl/certs/ /QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/SC1/OpenSSL/certs

# Copy hashes as links (-l)
$ rsync -rlptv --include='*.[0-9]' --exclude=\* linux:/etc/ssl/certs/
/QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/SC1/OpenSSL/certs
