Agree, network IBM i hosting, network virtualization is still not available
until 8.8.7.0 SP1 is out.

Below is from DeveloperWorks:
*IBM I IO Hosting (Storage): *

The GUI and REST API have been enhanced to create and manage IBM i hosted
virtual SCSI adapters for partitions. You can view and manage IBM i hosted
virtual SCSI adapters from the Partition Virtual Storage Adapter View.
Support for configuring IBM i hosting network for IBM i will be added in
870 SP1.

They are not. Read the 'memo to users' notes for 8.8.7 and they tell you
which bits are still not there. I forget them now because I do not use
them. I believe they are in creating the network bridge between the
hosted partitions and the exterior network via the IBM i host.

As to those *&)($ network changes. Grrrr. PITA indeed!

IBM i hosting IBM i, exists using HMC V8R8.7.0. They've added it before
they released the version and in theory all the actions/options should
exists within 8.8.7.0 as per the old Classical view. I've also noticed
that
8.8.7.0 is much more quicker and stable than 8.8.6.0. One thing IBM
doesn't
tell you straight is that with 8.8.7.0 they change the Call home
connectivity to use the new IBM Edge infrastructure, which means new
firewall rules for network team= PITA.
