The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

We upgraded our system from 7.1 to 7.3 almost a year ago and didn't
have the nightmares mentioned here. You have to very carefully read
the Memo to Users (both the 7.2 and 7.3) and make sure any Special
PTFs are installed at the right time in the right order. I think
there was only 1, and you could/should apply it on 7.1 in advance.
It takes an IPL.
We loaded all of the distribution DVDs and Cume to (separate) image
catalogs, and they ran smoothly. You have to Verify the imgage
catalog and say *UPGRADE.
Most important thing is to have an Option/21 backup of the system
before you start! 2 of them if you have the time!

ps-- I like the download director ("Download to my PC"). We set up
mapped network drives to IFS folders, so the download simultaneously
uploads to the IFS, ready to add to an image catalog. We usually
select all the pieces we want and let the thing download overnight.
