I suspect SMB2 for our QNTC issues, but I haven't seen any actual proof. We still have SMB2 enabled, and I keep poking IBM about the open PMR.

QNTC is an "experience" after 7.3. Much of it has to do with IBM switching to SMB2.
Many people (NOT ME!) say to heck with security, they know that SMB1 is a leaky boat, but yet find out how to switch back to that with 7.3.
It took a long time to get this resolved with IBM and Microsoft just standing there measuring anatomy against each other but eventually it was resolved. Be very current on your Windows boxes. And, again, be very current on your IBM i PTFs.
