I noticed that as well. I have tried every combination of options I can
conceive of.

When it is left off the dspffd display shows

which of course is different than
Default value . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :

but it's also different than the DDS's version of the dspffd which doesn't
show a default line at all.

Although the two version of the ddl result in different record format
levels, unfortunately neither matches the DDS file.

Gotta pick up my son at practice. I'll have to hit this again in the

Does the DDL have a NOT NULL WITH DEFAULT clause? Try taking the WITH
DEFAULT off.
