Let's get down to the heart of the matter. Outside of the Fix Level
Recommendation Tool recommending your firmware, hmc, OS, etc all be at the
latest level do they really recommend a certain level of firmware with a
certain level of IBM i anymore?

Way back on 7.2 (remember that far back anyone?) there was a section in
the Knowledge Center
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_72/rzahc/rzahcchecklist.htm
Preparing the system for IBM i software upgrade or replacement
Verifying firmware requirements for the new release
This sent you out to the wasteland called the IBM Prerequisite site.
and if you can find the firmware requirements for IBM i 7.2 out there good
luck!

IBM i 7.3 dropped "Verifying firmware requirements for the new release"
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_73/rzahc/rzahcchecklist.htm
