Check CFGTCP option 12. There must not be an invalid DNS server listed
there. In 7.2, DB2 added a global variable named SYSIBM.CLIENT_HOST that
contains the name of the client. When a connection is first created,
the call to the "getnameinfo" is made so that this global variable can
be populated. As an example, if you connect from your PC to a PC5250
session, and then use STRSQL, the global variable will contain the name
of your PC (if the reverse lookup was successful).

IBM released some PTFs to be able to turn that off. My list is old, but
