Hi Rob

This sounds like the way Crystal Reports - whatever the name is now - operated by default - it would pull the full data to the PC, then run the SELECT there. You had to use a special setting to make it run stuff on the server.

I don't know Cognos - is it possible that this kind of thing is happening there?
