Okay, sub directories are fine.I am not familiar with the properties file
you refer to.

yes, it would all run on AS/400 (or compatible systems). Setting a
classpath and Spelling Java correctly is nearly enough. All you would have
to do, is to compile two java classes and to edit two property files,
modify the CL, bring it all to as/400 ( or a compatible system) and let it
run. Be sure to have the classes in the correct subdirectories
