Thank you, Paul!
I've sent an email to our VAR to see if he has any tricks up his sleeve. I'm just afraid I'll get all the files (eventually), but that they won't all be in sync with each other.

Donna,
We have the same issues, we are 24x7.
I do a full back, SWA, (Save While Active), every night.
SWA works great for libraries.
IFS objects are another story.
SWA does not apply for IFS objects.
I've been running this for twenty years, no issues with libraries, occasional issue with IFS objects.

Subject: Full System Save
Good day!
We have a fully integrated ERP application suite running on a Power 8, V7.2. Right now, we run the vanilla RUNBCKUP. Unfortunately, we have 2 payment portals (web and IVR) that run 24x7. Due to this, some files don't get backed up as they're in use. We discovered this during our last disaster recovery test. Not a good result. :(
If we do a Full System Save, we catch everything, as the subsystems are ended, which breaks the connections to the payment portals.
I've been told there is a "save while in use" option, which triggers two questions: 1. How would this work? Would it skip the locked files and then try to back them up later? Wouldn't this cause the files to be out of sync??? And 2. If only the full system save would work, can I put it on the scheduler? I've read some older postings that say this can't be done as Opt. 21 would end QBATCH. I'm not a programmer, and have limited availability to someone with somewhat out-of-date programming skills. What else would be available to us? (BRMS is not an option).
Thank you all for any info you could pass along!
Donna
