Yeah Roberto is correct here, finding NON IBM memory with CENTAUR controllers is going to be, um, 'rather difficult'. :-)

With Power7 machines there were some that likely worked because those were much more standard than Power8. However as previously stated IBM won't fix a machine with NON IBM Memory in it if they even catch a whiff of memory being the problem.

NOT worth the price difference IMHO.
