I don't recall an indicator light or a status line on the 5250 products. I
think those came out with the 5291's and later models. It's been a long
time.

looking in opposite directions. But I've read conflicting reports where
one will say it was indeed two CRTs in the same box, while another will
say that it was one CRT looking straight down, with mirrors to split the
screen into 2 12-line displays looking at the users.
And we had a 3180 for many years, until the HV section shorted out so
utterly that the fuse didn't just blow, it physically exploded. That
sucker was bloody damned heavy, even with only one CRT.
And InfoWindow and InfoWindow II terminals had a setup option for
showing attribute bytes. It was the "extended display" option on the
second page of "setup display." "PS" gave you the attribute bytes in
hex; I never figured out what "ECB1" and "ECB2" were for; they just
looked like a whole lot of dots.
Meanwhile, what about the indicator light and alphabet soup questions?
